This is part of a tiq, or Torah scroll holder, used for reading the Torah in synagogue. It is made of wood. It includes a painted glass inset for the tiq with a transcription in Hebrew וזאת התורה אשר שם משה לפני בני ישראל תיק זה וסתי שבו עשתה אותו Ṿe-Zot ha-Torah asher Śam Mosheh Lifne Beni Yiśra’el Tiḳ zeh ṿe-Sati she-bo Aśitah Oto.
